Microneedling is a treatment that stimulates the skin to heal itself, resulting in overall rejuvenation and improvement of unwanted conditions such as acne scars, pigmentation, sun damage, wrinkles, and more.
What is the recovery after Microneedling?
You’ll be able to return to your regular day following your microneedling in San Diego; however, your skin may feel warm and appear red or pinkish for 1-2 days, as though it were sunburned. Patients whose skin is very sensitive (or who are older) may experience these side effects for about a week.
Mild bruising and occasional spotty bleeding can also occur. Microneedling risks are rare and minimal but include minor flaking or dryness of the skin and, occasionally, small scabbing. In addition, patients with a history of cold sores may experience a flare-up after the treatment.
Microneedling results
The stimulated collagen and elastin production will begin immediately after receiving your treatment, and will continue over the next few weeks. This means that indentations from scars will gradually fill in, hyperpigmented areas will dissolve, and the surface of your skin will become more vitalized. You will love your smooth, bright complexion and your new youthful glow. Some patients will require a few treatments to achieve their desired results, and the longevity of those results will vary by person. The skin will still gradually age, but typically patients will retain their results for a few months. The treatments can then be repeated as necessary.
