The combination of IPL and ResurFX makes it possible to treat hyperpigmentation and sweep away visible veins while simultaneously triggering the body’s natural healing processes to tighten your skin for a firmer, more supple, youthful quality.

How does Photofractional work?

IPL uses light to target skin tone issues such as hyperpigmentation, sun damage, birthmarks and age spots. The light energy is converted into heat in your skin, destroying unwanted pigment. ResurFX is a non-ablative laser treatment, which means that it heats the deeper layers of your skin without damaging the surface. By stimulating elastin fibers and triggering natural collagen production, ResurFX uses the body’s natural healing capacity to tighten and rejuvenate your skin, so you look refreshed, glowing and radiant.

Am I a candidate for Photofractional?

Photofractional is a non-invasive treatment that addresses a wide range of skin concerns without requiring any downtime. While a Photofractional treatment is very low-risk, Dr. Ataii will not recommend Photofractional if you have any inflammatory skin conditions, active viruses, infections or skin cancer.

Your initial consultation

In your first privats consultation, Dr. Ataii will ask you questions about what you want to achieve with your treatments and discuss your aesthetic goals. This will enable him to recommend the best treatment plan for you. A highly skilled and experienced skincare specialist, Dr. Ataii has personally selected all of our advanced skincare treatments at Laser Cliniqúe and will provide you with expert guidance. Once he understands your concerns, Dr. Ataii will customize your Photofractional treatment to target the areas you want to improve.

What is a Photofractional treatment like to experience?

Dr. Ataii will usually use a topical anesthetic to numb the area to be addressed. During your treatment, you may experience a slight prickling or burning sensation, but the procedure should not be painful or uncomfortable. One session typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes, and you should be able to return to work or any other daily activities immediately. Depending on the settings used for your treatment, you may experience some swelling or redness. Any swelling will usually subside after a few hours, and redness will resolve in a few days.

What should I expect after a treatment session?

You may have already started to notice improvements in skin tone and pigmentation after your first session. Initially, age spots and sun spots will darken. This effect is nothing to be worried about, as it indicates that your Photofractional treatment is working. These spots will then move to the skin’s surface and fall away as your skin renews, and fresh, healthy cells move to the surface. Most people notice visible improvements in the texture of their skin by their third session. Fine lines and wrinkles soften, your skin tone becomes more even, and your complexion appears fresher and more radiant.

How many sessions will I need?

Treatment settings are customized to suit your skin type and your goals, and the number of sessions needed will vary from person to person. Most people need between three and five sessions to achieve the best results, with treatments every two to six weeks.

Even after your final Photofractional session, your skin will continue to improve, as your skin regenerates from within. The effects of your treatments can last for up to two years. Taking good care of your skin and avoiding excessive sun exposure will help maximize your results.
