Chemical peels for healthy, radiant skin

A chemical peel has the abililty to significantly improve the tone and texture of the skin and reduce imperfections. While the face is the most common area to be treated with a chemical peel, this procedure is also effective for the chest, neck, back, hands, arms, and legs. Chemical peels are highly customizable, as there are many different kinds and levels of intensity to target all different skin types and skin issues. As long as a chemical peel is being administered by a certified professional with experience, they are very safe and effective.

What can chemical peels do?

  • Reduce fine lines
  • Improve sun damage and age spots
  • Lighten hyperpigmentation
  • Address mild scarring
  • Improve uneven skin tone and texture
  • Shrink enlarged pores
  • Fade light freckling
  • Control acne breakouts
  • May remove pre-cancerous skin lesions

How do chemical peels work?

A chemical peel uses a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of damaged skin. As the treatment deeply exfoliates the skin and dissolves the damaged tissue, the tiny amounts of acid in the chemicals cause mild wounds to the skin. This causes fresh, healthy skin cells to be brought to the surface — and begins the production of brand-new collagen, which results in skin that is tighter and firmer.

Chemical peel options

Laser Cliniqúe offers the following medical-grade chemical peels:

Glycolic Peel

The high-percentage glycolic peel can help to promote the production of collagen and reveal skin that’s smoother and lit-from-within. In addition to minimizing fine lines and minor skin discolorations, this peel is also appropriate for softening acne scars, treating acne, and improving dry patches.

Modified Revitalize Peel

This moderate-strength chemical peel produces dramatic results and can improve your skin’s texture and tone, resulting in skin that is softer and younger-looking. It can also tighten your pores and erase sun damage, freckles, mild acne scarring, melasma, and age spots.

TCA Peel

The TCA peel penetrates deeply into the skin and effectively removes dead skin cells. This peel has the ability to smooth the skin’s texture, minimize wrinkles, correct uneven pigmentation, improve age spots, and reduce the appearance of acne scarring.

Vitalize Peel

The environment we live can be very harsh, and our skin provides the first line of defense against the assaults of nature. This often results in a dull skin color, fine lines, and discolorations. The Vitalize Peel is a light yet powerful peel that offers a solution to these conditions without damaging the skin. It’s a highly customizable peel that doesn’t require much downtime, and often gets results after just one session. The Vitalize Peel is excellent for:

  • Exfoliating the skin
  • Anti-aging
  • Acne breakouts
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improving minor skin discoloration
  • Correcting sun damage
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Treating melasma

How is a chemical peel administered?

Before treatment, we will cleanse your skin to make sure there is nothing “blocking” the peel. Once your skin is ready, the pre-selected peel that was discussed during your consultation will be directly applied to your skin. As the peel dries, it may give your skin a burning or tingling sensation. Although this simply means that the peel is working, we encourage you to let us know if you become uncomfortable. Although every patient is different, in general, a series of six treatments scheduled 3-4 weeks apart achieves the best results.

What is the downtime and recovery from a chemical peel?

Because there are different levels of chemical peels, each one will require different amounts of downtime.

During your consultation with us, we will go over the specific chemical peel that will best meet your needs, and we will explain what the recovery period will be for it. Some chemical peels require zero downtime, but others have some restrictions. We will select a chemical peel for you that best meets your skin’s needs, while also working with your lifestyle.
